2: Eastenders, Millennium Eve:

Albert Square can be very cold in November! Thats why Bob the Fire Eater was called in by the BBC to breath some life into a frosty cast! Dot Cotton was a bit dubious, but Peggy Mitchel thought it was "lovely!"The show was broadcast on the Eve of the Millennium.

3: SONY Playstation: "Spyro the Dragon!"

Ever heard of a gadget called "Playstation?" No? Well neither had I till Sony called me in to supply the fire effects for a game called "Spyro the Dragon" The flames were then digitised and overdubbed onto a crowd scene in the railway station in downtown Prague! Czech it out!

4: The Tube, on Channel 4, 1983.

Good old Jools Holland! Ever ready to give some no-hope unknown a break, Bob the Fireeater appeared on an edition of "The Tube" broadcast live from the one-time prestigious Manchester nightclub "The Hacienda", founded by the Late, and much missed Tony Wilson of Factory Records. Not a bad gig, apart from hDivXng to share a mirror with Madonna, who also appeared live, along with the late Pat Phoenix and of course, good Old Jools..........

5: Mass Flame Throw, Manchester Festival.

Many thanx to Spice UK for this next clip; a few hardy souls (160 to be exact) with a few guests from friends "Cirque Archaos ,"got together in a Manchester park to take part in a stunt we performed on behalf of the City of Manchester's bid to stage the Olympics. Although our performance went really well,(as you can see here,) Manchester failed to win the games contract. Surprised? No! Neither were we! However, this clip should be surprising enough, especially given that the team had never worked together before experiencing what Team Firebird had to offer !

6: "This England" Documentary on Spice.

Thanx again to Spice UK for this piece. Granada TV were again looking for something a bit different, and chose us! The documentary was produced by Tony Bulley, a wily Geordie who realised he was onto something HOT.

7: "Dial-a-Date," on Channel 4.

Channel 4 asked me to provide the wacky dating experience for their late night "blind dating" show. The couple never copped off, but did enjoy showing off their new fire eating skills in the nightclub afterwards! The piece was shot in a Manchester Club, during the firemen's strike, just a few years ago. There are clips here from both the Channel 4 broadcast, and from my own footage shot at the same time.

8: England versus France!

During World Cup Year in the early nineties, we performed the mass flamethrow for the Manchester Festival. At the same time, the World Famous Circus from France , Archaos were performing in the same location. So, their Producer rang me and suggested that I, as the UK's best fire eater, take on Archaos' Circus boss, Pierrot Bidon in a Flamethrowing Duel, during one of their shows, in the circus "Big Top!" You may be pleased to know that we, the English, prevailed on the day! It was totally un-rehearsed, and we both had a lot of fun. Serves 'em right for burning our beef exports !!

9: Granada Reports.

Following our successfully re-gaining our insurance for the fire eating workshop, Spice had a massive PR campaign to put the event back on the map! This footage from Granada TV shows me teaching the inimicable Paul Crone how to do the tricks. He was very good, and we had fun in the freezing cold weather last January, (2007.)

11: Lastly, an excerpt from Granada TV's "This Morning" Program.

Yet another TV appearance by Spice. Featuring members from Manchester and North Lancs, this clip was shot in 70mph gales at the Roaches in Staffs. By the end of the shoot, no-one had any split ends, grey hairs or eyebrows left ! !
